When asked, again, very unconcerned, he stated this was the "security policy" but couldn't point me to any such policy and even claimed there was no manager on duty for me to speak to.
Stayed here for Xmas vacation, walking distance to most major museums. They offer free breakfast weekdays 6-9am and weekend 7--10 am . The room is big enough for 4 people and has a kitchen which is a plus for my kids. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay here again.

Overall, I had a pretty bad experience at this Marriott. The only upside was the price was very reasonable.
I had delivery ordered around 11:30 and they called when the delivery arrived. I asked the front desk to let them come up to the room and the front desk said they could not. This was pretty ridiculous given the hotel has zero security (no card access for front door or elevator). After coming down to the front desk to claim my food and speaking with the front desk, the employee didn't seem to care at all about the feedback or the inconvenience of requiring quests to go down to the lobby to claim any deliveries.
The service at this place was terrible! My family of four stayed here for three nights and each day something went wrong in our room. The heater did not work and we froze one night. We called for a repair and the next night our room was a furnace! There was an awful burning smell all night. The breakfast area was put chaos, no organization. Rooms were not terrible but certainly not great. The door of the bathroom touches the toilet in opening and closing which means it was too cramped for a family of four people. To make matters worse, when we checked out, we were charged with a "smoking environmental cleaning fee". Nobody in my family has or ever will smoke so we decided to question this. We ordered a non-smoking room on purpose. The employee did not believe us! We continued to argue and turns out the cleaning lady had smelled the awful burning smell due to THEIR heater and blamed us for smoking. There were no ash trays or any other signs of us smoking for that matter. The only reason I gave this place two stars is because their were two employees who were absolutely kind to us. We will NEVER be coming here again!
Rooms are ok, but not what I would call up to date my any means. However, the late night front desk staff when I was there was pretty rude and unaccommodating.
This is a great place to stay while in DC. we went their as a group in a business trip coming from Egypt. Though the place is relatively a small hotel, but we were very comfortable with what they offer. Big rooms, nice breakfast and sometimes
Great value! This hotel offers much larger rooms than hotels in the same area, and the room comes with a full kitchen! Walking distance to everything; 10 min walking to the White House. Friendly staffs. Awesome breakfast included, lots of choices of food, plenty comfortable seatings. Some seatings have individual flat screen TVs for your morning news.
