My room is comfortable and spacious. Pool and exercise area great. Walking distance to several restaurants, outdoors ice skating rink and Navy Yard metro station. Only issue with this property is parking in hotel is far too expensive currently $47. On street parking is metered @ $2.30 per hour from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm because close proximity to National's Station. Handicapped parkers have to pay as well.
I stayed at this Marriott for about 2 weeks and I cannot praise enough the good service I received from the staff. Nice room, quiet. Great location.
Standard courtyard, firm but comfy bed. Because of the time I was at the hotel did street meter parking instead of the very expensive valet parking. Rate includes a free breakfast that was surprisingly filling and delicious, a good value. Some significant street noise at all hours. Front desk staff was pleasant, restaurant staff not so much.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. After the first night there I found several small itch bites on my foot, and after the second night I had more. I informed the desk and they moved cband62 my room which solved the problem. They comped my breakfast for the trouble. When I went to breakfast they got my order wrong and I spent 5 minutes arguing when they tried to charge me for it at check out. Both rooms had an ac that made a very annoying clicking sound that kept me awake. And on the second nights stay the house keeping didn't refill my coffee, cups, or towels. (No other comp. Coffee in the building) the needs were comfortable and the front desk was very nice with a convenient location too the metro, but it was a miserable experience.
This is the worse Marriott that I have stayed solely because of the staff and management. They were unfriendly and did not help a guest our at all. No one recommend good restaurants near by even after asking. All front desk employees gave me the impression that they did not want to be there or make your stay enjoyable. They wouldn't try and give a guest the best price of the day either. I would definitely go to stay at the Hilton or another hotel in this area.
