Normally, Hertz for me means fast and efficient service..and then you can be on your way.
Overbooking cars and leaving people stranded on Christmas day is definitively not a good move...

Rented car at Union Station in DC for 9:00 AM delivery to hotel, but never delivered until nearly 10:00 AM. Drop off at DCA at 11:00 AM the next day, but charged two full days. In all, not good business treatment for a Hertz 5-Star.
If you get a traffic ticket in DC (easy to do because many DC residents only rent cars in an emergency and get photo speeding tickets), the company will auto-pay your ticket. This REMOVES your ability to dispute the ticket in DC. Do not rent from them unless you're okay with the risk of being auto-charged $100 or more without the ability to dispute the charges in DC.
