An optimal-sized museum of modern art. Even if you are not into modern art this is surely a good place to start. They manage great temporary exhibitions that I don't want to miss. Each time I visit DC -a couple of times every year- I pay a visit there. The building is itself a gem of modern design worth discoBering.
Was here just last year and all exhibits were changed, great and interesting visit.
Incredibly interesting and thought provoking exhibits on display here that rotate regularly. You can see anything from letters to mothers covering a massive wall to intricate socially aware wallpapers and Lego murals. If you enjoy modern art, it's definitely worth the price of free to check out the Hirshorn.
Just a little over the top for me. Great to experience the visit. Like art but this museum is just a little different. Would recommend going just for the variety but not with young children.
I take group of students here every year. Always great surprises, major exhibitions and some old favorites (like big man by Ron Mueck) also interesting short films are shown,(very conceptual). Recommend starting at top and working your way to the bottom.
Amazing place, loved the narrative behind the art for most art pieces. Friendly and helpful staff. Some of the employees carry an inviting a sign for people to ask them about art. So unique! The building is really beautiful. Worth visiting.
