Typically I love this store. But today I made a return. For that I was denied a parking validation ticket. Had planned to pick up champagne and wine for the weekend, but realized I needed to run to an appointment and neither the cashier or manager on duty would validate even though I am a regular and loyal customer. Stopped and picked up $100 worth of champagne later this afternoon, but World Market did not get my business.
Incredibly helpful staff and beautiful furniture. We bought a beautiful table from them thanks to the deals and insights the associated told us about.

A fun store full of worldly knickknacks. There is also a decent wine section. Always good for gifts, cards, or interesting candies and oddities!
I love this location. The managers and staff really care about their customers. They work hard keeping the store clean, well organized and welcoming. This location also sells beer and wine. The downside is they'll only validate parking for 1 hour and only with $15+ purchase. 1 hr is sometimes difficult, especially at Christmastime. Typically spending $15 or more isn't a challenge but when you're looking for a specific item(s) and travelling from store to store in hopes of finding it, it seems they should still validate but even a manager refused. If they had the pieces in stock I would've spent about $70 but they didn't. I'm being a loyal customer shopping at, not only their Friendship Heights store, but Fairfax, Pentagon City, Alexandria, Fairlakes and Rockville too. I just dislike the parking situation at Friendship but the store and staff are wonderful.
