I have been shopping at this Walmart for groceries since it opened, and have been a consistent weekly customer for everything from groceries to home goods. Generally it has been fine, but I had such a terrible Black Friday experience at the store that I am not sure I will ever return. Walmart posted a deal for Black Friday saying it would offer a $300 gift card for anyone wanting to update to a new cell phone with certain service providers. It took five hours for Walmart to address five customers who wanted this deal. Due to poor management, none of the employees knew the details of the deal, the department manager had no idea what items she had in stock, the computer systems crashed multiple times, and only two people actually left with cell phones. My recommendation to anyone would be to avoid this Walmart and patronize other nearby stores for groceries, home goods, etc...
Super great location. The employees are super nice and it’s run very well. They restock at night time so there’s often not a whole lot out by the late afternoon.
Stopped by this Location on the way home. Everything was great until i wanted to check out. Three registers with as bout 15 people in each line. The manager on duty thought it was a good idea to close the self service registers early. I shop at several other locations as well as Target around the same time of day to compensate for the limited number of cashiers working the closing a shift, they'd always have the self service registers open.
It nice to have a convenient location inside Washington DC, but there many times the shelves aren't properly restocked. But all in all, not bad.
The best time to go is early afternoon. Majority of the product is stocked and the vendors are gone. Late morning, there are less people, but exciting may not be on the shelves yet. If you go in the evenings, majority of the common items are gone and there is a large crowd for ALL checkout lanes. The one off of Riggs Road is among the cleanest Walmart's I've been to in the DC/MD area. However, the parking garage is UNDER the building, so be prepared to smell car exhaust if you're driving.
