I went on their opening day and expected a few misses since most have a few on their grand opening. Surprisingly, they had their entire act together and I didn't experience any misstep on their part. Well done!
You order up front and you can see their pastries on display from croissants (almond and chocolate) to kolaches (try the cream cheese pecan one) to chocolate cheesecake slices. Their menu is on clipboards and categorized by meal type (brunch, lunch, etc). Their coffee menu is on point and they do offer a good chai. I ordered an ice latte and it was great. My only complaint was they don't have simple syrup, so it takes awhile to sweeten any ice drinks.
Amazing food and drinks. Try the tartines; especially..... well, all of them. What a cute place! The furniture... the decor... the trach can! Even the trash can is stunning! We’ll be back.
update: they’re up to speed now and always have a wide selection of delicious treats. Coffee drinks are good, not great, but priced well.
Pear Plum is more than a coffee shop. It's a brunch spot, lunch spot, dinner spot, and late night drink spot. There are a few tables in the front most of which hold two people only (There's a larger round table in the window that can seat 4-5 people). The back has a bar area and wall seating for people who want to use their free wifi.
Pear Plum Cafe is a little cafe on the west end of Mount Pleasant. For the locals, it's in the spot that Flying Fish coffee shop once stood. Once they moved out, nearby Each Peace bought the space to open Pear Plum Cafe.
They have quite a few kinks to work out. Food tastes great, but ringing people up seems to take forever. They've been out of what I want 5 out of 6 times i've gone so far (and I mean basics, like any bread). I'm sure that will improve as they get used to things, but they also got my order wrong twice now.

Good snacks, good service, very convenient, I love it!
I live across the street and this is my go-to. Reasonably priced coffee drinks and a nice selection of delicious pastries. The only downside doesn't really have to do with the café itself: people stay here for long periods of time and sprawl their laptops across tables, so I almost always can't get a seat. On a bright note, the aesthetic is perfect!
Overall it was a good experience and a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
