Big Bear is always busy, and with good reason. The coffee is great and the baked goods are enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed and calming. The outdoor seating is perfect in the summer. Recommend grabbing a drink there after work.
Coffee Shop Gem. Big Bear is more than a coffee shop, it is a sanctuary for anyone who wants to be themselves. The food and coffee is great and the environment is even better. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and they always have some nice pastries on hand as well. Staff is wonderful, eclectic and down to earth. Speed is not the primary focus of this Oasis, so it is not always the best for quick, in and out service. However, if you don't mind a short wait or want to soak up the atmosphere, this is the place for you.
A couple weeks ago my husband and I grabbed coffee and breakfast at this location. The street beside it had a fantastic outdoor market and the cafe's outdoor seating area was so quaint and set apart from the craziness despite the chilly weather. The staff was quick and polite and the drinks were great. My husband's breakfast sandwich was okay. My quiche, on the other hand, is why I'm remembering to write a review weeks after the fact....I don't know what I ate other than an unattractive rubbery mess, but it was like no quiche I'd ever seen. The nearly wilted pile of greens next to it was the best tasting part. What was really heart breaking, at the market, feet away, there was a delicious-looking quiche for sale and was cheaper. Oh well, I'd go again.
I had gotten a regular drip coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee was severely under extracted and I ended up throwing it away after a few sips. Fortunately, the staff was nice and my wife loved her iced vanilla latte. The prices were slightly high, but it's to be expected for the area. Lastly, the Apple butter bagel was tasty. Considering the bad coffee, but nice atmosphere and service, I give this place an average rating.
Cute coffee place. Food is amazing. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, and it was so good. They also have a nice patio, would be great to sit under out there under a sunny beautiful afternoon!
