So now that you've got my attention (you basically begged for it), here's what's going to happen. Maybe I should *contact the D.C attorney general and file an official complaint?* They might get that business license revoked.... I hope it was worth it Rusty and the gang... I know Secrets was shut down for a week a few years back over some investigation. They lost their liquor license. I am not someone they should mess with.... Bet you wish you left me alone, huh?
I will give this place a 2 star. Really, it is a 5 star establishment. However, be warned. There are thieves happily waiting to pick your pocket as you dance and have a drink or two. Now, I know it isn't Ziegfeld's fault that this happens there. I acted in my best interests and canceled all the plastic as soon as humanly possible. With all that said, it's still a place where you have to keep constant vigilance. Who wants to do that. There are many safe and fun places to go that do not harbor thieves. Go there. Don't go here. If you do, keep your valuables close, always.
Bunch of old guys with nothing better to do. That's their purpose in life, to harass customers at a gay club. Must be a sad, lonely life. Low self-esteem I bet. That bottomless pit inside you will never be filled.
BTW, *they do this for attention.* Because, there is no way in the world I would have taken time to post this negative review had they not acted out. Bunch of stereotypical bitc** racist unattractive old white queens.
The security staff, specifically Rusty (fat old white guy doing the most), and the other older guy (fat old white guy with the cane & hat) definitely profile people (especially blacks). They harass me often. For instance, if you're just sitting by yourself, and watching the dancers, and doing nothing else, they will stalk, harass, and hover around you all night. You will not feel welcomed. They try to provoke you.
Definitely a must see.
Drag show plus the secrets upstairs who are only wearing socks and shoes and nothing else.
What a huge waste! I returned to DC for my first visit in about a decade and remembered this place from way back. Seeking out the new location, I was disappointed in what I found. Rude staff, aggressive and pompous security, and dancers who were mostly straight and ugly. Worse, the dancers are totally standoffish now and you cannot touch. I won't even mention the outrageous prices. Lastly, the place is full of female patrons. I won't ever waste my time or money going there again.
And btw, when they use the word "creepy," it's code for black.
And, the most insulting part is that I paid to get in here.
Just a fun casual atmosphere as long as you aren't creepy. I feel like the negative reviews are from creepy people.
