Old Ebbitt is a swanky restaurant with top of the line east coast food and drink that you can wear a suit or jeans to. It's a hot spot for locals and tourists alike. Their seafood options are the best (clams especially). Their earth meats are always done to perfection with great taste. However, some of the food lacks spice, but you can always add salt and pepper to make it even more to your liking. I personally recommend you try the Pork Belly Sliders as a starter and the Pork Chop as the main. It's my favorite because it reminds me of my southern roots; 90% fat sliders with beet and a pork chop with sweet potatoes and collard greens. There's something for everyone; date, party, or business dinner. Old Ebbitt is pricey but worth it.

Food was excellent, and we had an awesome server. She was one of the best servers I'd had anywhere... Until she saw me holding hands with my dinner. We are both men.

Again, food was excellent, and the server was great...at first.

We had dinner with our teenage daughter. She was very excited about the huge nutcrackers at the entrance. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The food was tasty but not exquisite. I give it a 4 because I cannot give a 4.5... I do not suggest the clam chowder - much chowder not much clam. Steak is a bit tough but tasty. Salad was good. I suggest the place

When she refilled our water glasses, I said thank you so much. She didn't make eye contact, didn't say " you're welcome." She just turned to the other table and started smoking and laughing.

Best food!! Very crowded. I sat at the bar. WHAT AN AMAZING BOURBON LIST!!! Alex the bartender was so nice. Very close to the white house. You most definitely need reservations. Table for 1 had a 2 hour wait on a Tuesday night. Would gladly go back and highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I saw her approaching the table with a smile, notice we were holding hands and the smile immediately dropped. She then began to totally ignore us. She was super friendly with the table next to us in the same manner she had been with us previously.

First time I'd ever been treated that way for holding hands. I'm surprised that a server in a restaurant in DC would have that reaction.

We were in the back bar area. Bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great beer selection. Ordered oysters during their happy hour for great prices. Nice selection as well. Would definitely come back when in town. Location if there bar is also very nice. Walked from our hotel which was about a half mile away. Great time.
