Took the wife to see Stokley of Mint Condition for her birthday. The performance was great. The venue looks great. The staff........ Not so much. The general seating,which is really a limited first come-first serve was inadequate. We arrived about 45 minutes before show time to find 1/3 of the remaining seat reserved. We sat in the balcony at a booth without a reserved sign on it, only to be told halfway into the show that it was reserved. My complaint to the manager revealed that the table was in fact not. Apparently, a member of their staff either lied to us so his very late friends or family could sit, or he was the one person who didn't follow the manager's directions about reserved seating. Neither one is good. I hope they never have that problem again.
I want to support the Howard Theater.... but they've taken away the food service... I always thought it was nice to have a dinner and a show. Ah well... they still have a pretty nice range of relevant performers... at reasonable prices.
The Howard Theatre is a great place to catch a show or live event. As far as the facilities go, they're great. The staff was great in the fact i needed help with an issue, they helped me right away. Great bar area to provide you with an aquatic beverage of your choice. Now as far as when you get there and the crowd is not that great, then thats a different story. But it shouldn't ruin your night at the theatre, for that anything can happen. But all in all, enjoy yourself when you visit.
Good venue for shows - reminiscent of 930 club but with faster bar service and you have to pay to get a seat on the 2nd floor. Good acoustics, plenty of space.
Me and my partner attended the Eric Roberson show on Saturday October 28th, 2017. The show was amazing. The bar is pricey. We never received food that we ordered and the Manager never showed up. I'm very disappointed with the poor service given. The bar staff was very nice. What I didn't like about the bar is that you can't order food through the bar staff, you have to order through the server at which I didn't understand that policy. It seems that the venue was very short staffed which is not good. It was our first time there and I don't think that we will return until the services are better there.
