This is my absolute favorite single screen theatre. The screen is the perfect size for all the epic sizes movies. When I want to watch a movie on a television sized screen...I stay home. When I want to have the "movie experience", I go to the Uptown.
This theater offers a classic movie going experience. There is only one screen but large enough to be seen from the main floor as well as the balcony. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of AMC's more modern theaters such as seat reservations, digital Dolby theater seats or IMAX offerings.
THE theater to see a blockbuster movie in DC. It's been around since the 1940s and has a single, two-story high movie screen. There is a balcony level to watch the screen from! The seats are comfortable and the snacks are standard movie theater fair. Locals know this is the place to go for exciting movies. There is a nice array of restaurants and bars across the street, so this is a great spot, on top of the Cleveland Park Metro, for dinner and a movie.
A must see former 70mm theater with curved screen in the DC. Easy access from Cleveland Park Metro Station. It has since been converted to digital projection. So this expands its film formats, including 3D.
Awesome place to catch big Hollywood films with explosions and lasers and such. One big screen, and has great balcony seating, like in movie theaters that we hear about from before most of us were born...
