Stylist: Lennie
I have longish hair (3.5 inches) and I had a pretty good experience. Walked in w/ no appointment and they said I could be with someone in ten minutes. Wasn't timing to the second but wait was definitely no more than 15. Appreciated the Men's Journal magazines on the coffee table.
We created a treatment plan to deal with my broken ends and dryness, with him recommending various products and helping me build a regiment. What I enjoyed most is the fact that he didn't pressure me to buy products that were from the salon, either. He gave me recommendations sold in shop but also other brands he trusted. It's been a week since he pressed my hair straight and, despite 4 days of rain and daily gym visits, it's still perfect and flowing. My scalp is moisturized with not a flake in site. I have no idea how he did it but I am pleasantly surprised. I look forward to seeing my hair's health improve over the next couple of months and look forward to checking in with him to see how I'm doing.
She has a pretty strong accent but she understood exactly what I was going for and was pretty easy to talk to, so no complaints there. But she also wasn't big on starting conversations, you had to initiate, which for people who are a bit more introverted, is also a plus. I will probably be back to the salon, it's really close to where I live/go to school.
The lady who cut my hair was named Tonia and she is there on Thursdays and Fridays.
Lisa was amazing! I felt so listened to and she gave me a great haircut, even with my difficult curly hairstyle
In terms of the cut itself:
My whole family goes there, specifically to see Lisa who does an amazing job.
The stylist I had an appointment got sick and the salon called me to reschedule. As a black woman with natural hair, I was hesitant to reschedule with another stylist because I wasn't sure if a major salon chain like this one would have the appropriate stylists but... boy was I wrong to worry! Lennie was awesome, awesome, awesome! He did more than just style my hair, he educated me on it!
Otherwise, it's a regular place. It's pretty easy to get appointments. Prices are reasonable. They let you tip via credit card. No one has ever tries to push a product sale on to me.
If you're looking for a stylist in Downtown DC, please check out Lennie! He will have you living your best life!
**Men's Haircut w/ Long Hair**
I came in today for a quick trim and Lenny was my stylist. I have curly hair and was incredibly nervous about getting my hair cut. Lenny was incredible! He calmed all of my fears and gave me an amazing cut at a great price. I definitely will be returning!
She was really, really expeditious. She told me cuts a lot guys hair who are lawyers, bureaucrats etc and I think that may have caused the expeditiousness. I was in her chair for less than 20 minutes. Cut was good, she took off a little more than I had in mind, but I came out of it looking pretty much like what I was expecting to so whatever.
