There are two kinds of carts, and only one is allowed on the carr escalator (signage on carts will indicate). A cool coffee shop upstairs if you want to eat the ready made food there, or grab a coffee. A second beverage shop (read: more than just coffee) exists near the elevators to the parking lot.
Great selection of fresh and organic and high end food. A little pricey but typical for this kind of place. Their dinner/lunch buffet is great.
I truly enjoyed this market.
The carts even have cup holders if you want to shop while enjoying your pint of craft brew.
I visited after arriving on business in DC, in need of groceries for my stay, and I was pleasantly surprised to find every single thing I needed, from good, specific foods to supplements to my preferred brand of soap, and even a couple little goodies I didn't even know I needed - a one-stop shop, indeed. Plus, the staff I met were all friendly and laid-back, as was the premises itself, feeling removed from the city bustle just outside. I spent nearly an hour there, and it was maybe the most relaxing grocery trip of my life. Who'd thought, eh?
Just like any other Whole Foods, *except* this one is not very busy at all. Easy to maneuver in the aisles.
This new location is one of the best things that has happened to H street corridor in a long time. Three weeks ago I started a new routine of coming in every morning on my way to work to get a coffee and acai smoothie (so yum!). The ladies at the coffee and juice bar are the best. They're hard working, attentive, and so so sweet. I told them about my sick puppy and they've gone out of their way to ask about her when they see me. It truly shows how much they care about their customers. Next time you order a juice, give them an extra smile!
Very helpful and friendly staff at this new and sparkling clean location. Plus, a Whole Foods with a bar with happy hour specials and tasting portions? Yes, please. Can order cheese plates or gourmet hot dogs at the bar or bring food to enjoy from hot bar, sushi, or Paper Horse on 1st floor. Lots of seating in bar area and lovely outdoor seating on 1st floor.
