Highly satisfied with the service. Low interest rate is the key attraction.

(1) Bury all of the useful information in the middle of borrower's regular bank statement, and periodically remove the statement of the amount due on the loan

I just called the Credit Union -serving Bank staff who travel overseas all the time- to check what advice they have for staff (non Indian citizens) holding Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Zero advice. "Jessica" kept saying over and over that BFSFCU will not accept the currency. I said I was aware of that, but what other options were available to staff. I also asked if there were any US or Indian banks in the US authorized to accept the currency. She had no knowledge whatsoever. I wonder if they have even read the news...

I think this is a fair description of their actual policy on loan servicing:

Rates are terribly high, management sucks, staff are unfriendly (yes Jessica you are ), overall horrible experience. Do not recommend at all.

Good rates, but paperwork can be a little slow to process

(6) Repeat

I have worked with many other lenders, and no one has made it more difficult to be a good borrower. When this first happened, I called and messaged them many, many times before I got an answer about where to definitively find this information. When I found their credit remarks, I called and messaged many more times before an agent finally admitted that their reporting method was inconvenient probably needed improvement, but would not budge on the issue.

(3) Provide no payment reminder methods other than the late payment notice (also provided around the same time as the next bank statement)

(4) Accept the fewest possible methods of payment

(5) Report every payment issue immediately to Credit Bureaus

(2) Mail bank statement at the beginning of the month (but encourage borrowers to use payment due dates at the end of the month
