I would give this park 5 stars, except that there are busy roads nearby. I prefer silence and narrow sounds while hiking. Still, it gets high marks for beauty and convenience.

Little on the pricey side but the food is top notch. From wings to salad to pizza the price is worth it. Just don't get desert

Great location to get out and hike scenic trails along the Potomac River. Good vantage points for viewing the falls. Amazing geologic remnants from glaciation are found along the hiking trails. Historic canal lock which lifted boats nearly vertical to bypass the falls. Well worth the short drive from DC and other locations in Northern Virginia.

Love, love, love Rock Creek Park. Always discovering new corners, new walks. It's beautiful in winter, in summer, in spring, in fall... Have seen bald eagles, beavers, and lots of deer, snakes. Love that they close off Beach Drive on Sundays.

Beautiful, accessible, and loved natural respite from the urban bustle. This National Park offers great amenities like hiking, biking, jogging, bird-watching, Nature Center, Horse stables, golf course, and more to commune with Nature. One of the largest city-center parks in the United States that you can immerse yourself especially when foliage fills out the spaces into a world away for hours. On weekends, motor vehicles are prohibited in some of the valley parkway. Wildlife is visible in the sky, land, and even the water. The Nature Center allows you to see the woodland creatures up close, and also has a planetarium to see far away. Historical assets like Grist Mill are open to the public with programs to demonstrate the creek's early industrial application or explore retreating Civil War fortifications to understand DC's role in the Civil War. Go explore!
