Good place to go, but I wouldn't take small children.
I love coming down and sitting by the water in the summer time. They also have a skating rink outside including basketball courts. A nice place to take a walk
Beautiful park by the Anacostia River. There are several recreational fields, 2 playgrounds, a skate park and a DC Recreation Center here. The walking/biking trail is lined with lights and cool facts and art explaining history of the area. You can spot The Washington Memorial as well as Nats Stadium along the riverbed. If you enjoy bird watching this is a good area to set up a chair and enjoy the inhabitants of the Anacostia Watershed. Overall this park is great for family fun, exercising or just taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
I love what they've done to the park. I went out to catch up with some friends that I haven't seen in a while and it was a great time. The weather was nice. The park was mostly clean. It was great! Good tables, good playground. There's shade when needed. It's also right by the water.
