My 12 year old requested to eat here for his birthday. This was our first visit, and he raved about it! My daughter as well as my husband loved it! I was less enthused, but 3 out of 4 isn't bad.
This place was a little bit too overrated. I checked a lot of reviews before coming here and they all said that Shake Shack a a really good burger place. But it wasn’t very good at all. The burgers were very oily and greasy, they were sloppily made with none of the things that I ordered inside the burger; just lettuce and the meat. The fries were relatively good fries, but I ordered two and said that very clearly to the cashier, but only got one of them in the end. Th shakes were an okay size, but the chocolate shake was extremely sweet and it got to the point where all I could taste was the sugar and no chocolate. It was overcrowded and overall, not a very friendly atmosphere, but more rushed than anything.
Shake Shack is slowly winning me over. Thanks to a coupon I received, I went for lunch on a Thursday. I ordered a hot chicken sandwich, fries, and a water all for under $10 (winning). The service was fast and I found an open seat in the back. Sitting down to enjoy my lunch, I wondered if my food would have a bit more flavor than I remember. As I enjoyed the hot chicken sandwich, I was happy to find it very tasty and it hit the spot. My fries were a little cold and the wrinkles in it provides an interesting texture, but they were still good. Pro-tip: Add mayo (can we get light mayo please, Shake Shack) to each fry.
Stopped to eat on way to Caps game. Very crowded but shared a table with another couple. Burger & fries very good. Beer was warm. Will definitely go back when in DC again.
Came here before the Wizards and Cavs game. It wasn't too busy and my order came out quickly. Burger and fries were delicious.
