Customer service was great! Food lacks taste but presentable. Nothing like Vegas or NY
Honestly, the best sushi I’ve tasted in a long while. Nice staff. Great ambiance. Interesting people watching... great lighting. Totally a 5 star restaurant imo
This is a first! I’m writing this review about Nobu-DC without even having been there yet! We have been to Nobu in Vegas, and San Diego! Both locations were great and so we were happy when the DC location opened. Made reservations to go there for early dinner on a Friday evening, but on the day of, I received a call from the restaurant confirming the reservations, but also reminding us that we have to be done by a certain time because of their second seating! This was a first for me; I can honestly say that I have never had any place do that. To me, that is the opposite of hospitality: do you ask your guests when they are leaving before they arrive??? The girl on the phone was unable to answer that question! As far as I’m concerned, no restaurant is worth it; certainly not Nobu. This kind of (non) service, even before one arrives, can only mean one thing, worse service once you get there. So, I canceled our reservations and we’re happy to take our appetites and money somewhere where they’ll be appreciated!
Nice buildout and food generally consistent with New York and Vegas but the other issues overshadow the food, hence the two stars. After a debacle with our bill and an incompetent waiter who overcharged us by “creating a family style dining experience”, (one of us charged $350 while two others $120 and $200 for the same size portion/entree I ordered for myself so 1 order split for 3 people) we complained to the manager and were given a $200 credit for another shot at dining there. Well, same results: food was good and service not so much. Food came out inconsistently and while one of us got a plate, everyone else sat there waiting for long periods of time with nothing. Entrees came out for others while a few hadn’t even received their starters. Bottom line, they said that’s how the kitchens works. What? Not acceptable. I’ve been to other Nobu locations and by far, the staff seemed not to standard of price point of Nobu and the inconsistency and confusion over our orders left us frustrated. I won’t return to the DC location. Will be interested to see if this Nobu makes it in this government town.
This was an disappointing experience since I has been to the NY and Miami location. The service and food was about average and not worth the money. Waiting time for just a menu and water was unbelievable.
