Unfriendly place. Custumer service is a nightmare. touching cups with they hands all over, no straws. Why do we have to drink after they hands was in and out the cup
Rude staff, overpriced food, small portions.
This place has the rudest staff I've ever come across. If you're not a people person, you shouldn't work in an environment where you have to deal with people, period. The food isn't special, and was definitely overpriced, but the staff is really what made me never want to eat here again.
Surprised by how delicious the black bean burger was. Service was friendly, but prices are high. Typical of foodservice in any attraction/park.
If you can wait, I'd recommend leaving the zoo and eating on Connecticut Ave, Mt. Pleasant or Adams Morgan.
However the indoor seating is nice on a hot day, but there are no restrooms in the building.
The menu items are limited and pricey, when I came they were out of the only entree my 5 year old friend wanted, luckily she was fine with a hot dog. The staff are friendly but I get the sense that this place is lacking in good management. Running out of food, one of their soft serve flavors ran out, ordering ice cream is confusing. It should be noted that for the cost of one ice cream cone here, you can get two at Dos Gringos, an adorable cafe in Mt. Pleasant.
*sigh* I love the zoo, but I pack a lunch to avoid this place, except for the soft serve-that's worth your time.
