Not as good as the reputation. Wasn't impressed with the Chili but the environment was comfortable. There was a couple of booths where you could plug in to recharge phones, ipad, etc. Helpful for me as a tourist.
Not sure that I can understand the fuss here. Makes great late night food after you've had a bit more to drink than you'd care to admit. Otherwise the service can be a little frustrating, and tables and bathrooms could see a wet rag a bit more often.
Visited on a recent trip to DC. The service was great. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient with us since we weren't sure what we wanted. The food was good. I expected the chili to be a bit more flavorful, but I was definitely satisfied with my meal. Everything was made fresh, and the portions we're reasonable. It was a little on the pricey side, but I chalked it up to paying for the experience of dining at a historic restaurant.
If you want a good chili dog, then you need to go here! I got the chili dog and chili cheese fries on my cheat day and it was a cheat day well spent. They do not skimp on chili or cheese and the service is quick. I think I was in and out (eating there) in about a half hour. Parking on the street is possible; like all things DC drive around for a bit and you'll find somewhere. Looking back, I wish I got a milkshake. I'll definitely return here again sometime when I'm passing through.
I had to try this place out due to all the hype. Was not blown away in any regard, but the food is pretty good. Open late so it's a good after bar snack.
