Absolute disgrace in the craft beer world. Markups for difficult to find beers are over 200% compared to other local shops. Spend your money somewhere else.
It's a good store. The prices are quite affordable and their staff are friendly. All these negative reviews must be from tourists who stay around DuPont Circle and the West End area. The locals all shop at this store for their great selection and well-lit interior,. You just do not get that at State Liquors.
Literally the majority of "rare" beers are priced at a minimum of 2-3x market value. They go as far as to import stuff from Belgium that costs $15 a bottle there and sell it for $200 (Cantillon Fou Foune, for example). The same Founders 4 packs selling for $15 at any Whole Foods in town are $60 here. I'm surprised that they do enough business to stay open.
Great selection of beverages here. Wide open concept and everything is easy to find. Prices are reasonable
